At Nature’s Den, we believe we stand out from other home-based agencies. We are all about ‘quality’. This starts with providing families with quality educators who are caring and value children’s education. Educators that share the same passion and vision that we do.

Children will experience quality learning in uncrowded homes, receiving individualised care in a nurturing environment.

We work closely with you to ensure your child gets the most out of our programme by building strong relationships with families.

Our Educators provide quality education and care that caters for your needs, whether it is full-time or part-time care that you are seeking. Educators will have a maximum of four preschool-aged children in their home at any one time and a maximum of two children under the age of two.

The transition to school can be daunting for children and their families – a normal feeling given it is a major transition in a child’s life. At Nature’s Den we ensure children that are about to start school are supported as best as they can be by providing children learning experiences that will enhance their cognitive development and build their confidence. The co-ordinator or educator can take your child for school visits if you are unable to. This is another unique feature that many home-based services do not offer.

Will the educator’s house be safe enough for my child?

Yes, of course. The co-ordinator will ensure that the educator’s home meets the required regulations set by the Ministry of Education.

How will my child experience social interactions, given the small ratio?

Children will experience social interactions through frequent outings that the co-ordinator will organise, such as playgroups, music groups, nature discovery days, etc.

How much will it cost?

Educators will normally charge between $6-$10 an hour based on their experience. WINZ subsidies are available to eligible families through Work and Income, including 20 ECE hours free for children 3 and over.

What happens if my educator is sick?

Alternative childcare arrangements are organised by the service. We will organise emergency care with other approved educators or your area co-ordinator at short notice.

How do I know what my child is learning?

Your child will have a personal learning journal, which is available to view anytime. The educator and co-ordinator will document this. Nature’s Den will also keep you up to date with everything through monthly newsletters published on their website.

If you would like to meet with us to discuss enrolling your child within a quality Ministry of Education approved early childhood service, we would love to meet with you in your home at a time convenient to you.
